POLE DANCING

Realizing I had postpartum depression 7 months after giving birth to my daughter shook me to my core. I needed to find community just as much as I needed to find a way to express myself.

At that point I had driven past my local pole studio (Foxy Fitness and Pole) a thousand times and always thought, “God I really need to get my ass in a pole class!”

I finally decided to try it out when I realized I had PPD. From day one I was hooked! Little did I know, my studio just so happened to be owned by a world renowned pole artist and athlete - Ashley Fox!

A little less than a year after taking my first pole pole class I entered a pole competition (PSO nationals 2021 level 2 dramatic). My piece told the story of my PPD journey. It was the first time I had danced on stage in over 10 years!

My experience as a double major in musical theater and dance, along with my experience of teaching yoga for over 13 years allowed me to excel rather quickly on the pole. Soon after the competition, Ashley Fox asked if I wanted to train to become a teacher!

Once I became a teacher I pushed myself to the next level and competed at level 4 championship in PSO’s APC competition. I won first place and then went on to get hired to dance with Snoop Dogg to an audience of 15,000 as well as for Schtick It in NYC. It was shortly after this that I started to release original music, compete in pole at a professional level with an original song, and then go on to write an all-original one-woman show.

Dreams do come true! In 2023 I premiered my one-woman show telling the story about an abortion that led me to have a rebirth as an artist. This show not only featured pole dancing, but it also featured an all-original musical score, storytelling, and psychedelic projections. All proceeds went to the Lilith Fund, a Texas organization dedicated to offering safe access to abortion seekers in my home state of Texas
